Eye Health - Computer Vision Syndrome

Computer Vision Syndrome, also known as Digital Eye Strain, is a group of eye and vision-related problems that result from prolonged computer, cell phone, tablet, and other hand held electronic digital devices use. Usually individuals experience eye discomfort and vision problems when viewing digital screens for extended periods of time.

The most common symptoms associated with Computer Vision Syndrome are:
  • Headache
  • Eyestrain
  • Blurred vision
  • Itchy and dry eyes
  • Neck and shoulder pain
The causes of computer vision syndrome can be:
  • Uncorrected vision problems
  • Glare and blue light from digital screens
  • Poor lighting
  • Improper viewing distances and/or angles
  • Poor seating posture
